I’d heard a lot of hype about this when it was still upcoming, but I’m not sure i get it, tbh. A-1 is bringing some incredible production values, but I’m really not sure the story deserves them. The main character seems about as blank slate as they come, and the losing heroines all feel very tropey and fake. The situations they find themselves in all feel like parodies, but the tone always seemed serious and earnest. I’m just not really sure what the show is aiming for.
It looks stunning, but I just felt like there wasn’t a lot of meat on its bones. 3/5
The quality is at the movie level. The characters are also very likable. Can’t wait for ep 2
