He says that the President can do this, but it’s something I’ve never heard of and I can’t find anything to back his claim up. Is this even true?
Edit: Seems like something the author should have verified as well.
I don’t know as though that is a law, but with the new Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity, it is a valid possibility. If “murdering your political rivals” is on the table, then “sentencing a terrorist to death” is probably covered.
