Sure, don. I can see it. It’s like they’re on some sort of trans mission. It’s automatic for them. But as soon as they’re in a clutch, their priorities will shift. they’ll change gears and reverse their position.
The original short ‘Scavengers’ caught my attention and was beautiful and had interesting flora and fauna design, and I mostly enjoyed it.
BUT
The steps taken during the short felt like a poorly contrived Rube Goldberg machine of individual segments of brilliant and interesting interactions that were kind of shoehorned into each other as more of a portfolio of the art style and a bunch of separate interesting vignettes than it did tell a narrative about an actual functional ecosystem.
The alien biological interactions were rooted more in the purpose of showing off art style, as species that relied on the interactions that the humans ‘goaded’ them through would have gone extinct long before human’s arrival and I literally see no natural mechanism in universe that could replace 80% of it.
I know it’s such a minor deal to most people but the fact that the ecosystem is so mechanically unbelievable makes it near impossible to fully like the short.
And I don’t want to take the time risk to find out the same thing with the series. I really do appreciate the recommendation but I don’t understand why my pique doesn’t bother more people. Especially biologists…
I highly recommend the series, honestly, and the integral complexities you’re concerned with certainly abound. Give it a shot, let it tell it’s own story before you wish your own impressions overlaid on it. 🤫🤓

have some lemmy gold
Awwww, that’s adorable.
Well, now I’ve gotta print one. 🤩✨
(What does the other side look like, though? Hmm.)
I also have this one, maybe it will inspire you:
Ooh. I’m a fan. 🤘🏽☠️
Well that’s adorably horrific. 🤩
Yeah NovelAI’s image generator is pretty crap compared to most modern gen, but I find the strangeness kind of endearing.
I have a feeling you’d like Scavengers Reign 🤘🏽
It’s complex…

It seems like trump has leaky fluid and that really grinds his gears.
He’s out of 10mm sockets. We’ve all been there.

I wish I had an adult offspring of your preferred gender to offer you their hand in marriage you fucking poet.
