Heroine? Saint? No, I’m an All-Works Maid (And Proud of It)! vol 1 - It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad. It feels like a stale sandwitch that lost its luster. MC gets isekaid and gets’t OP powers that she uses to become one maid army and fix life of one noble girl. The world building is interesting to discover as it has couple of minor twists that differentiate it from all other isekai. Throught out the second half I felt that the volume should end but it didn’t.
I did a catchup week and finished High Elf.
Enough with This Slow Life! I Was Reincarnated as a High Elf and Now I’m Bored: Volume 6 - The pace of this series always feels like a rollercoaster ride that only goes fast. It’s really unique in that regard, though I wish there were some more meat to some of the more interesting stories. But hey, MC gets a girlfriend at the end, so maybe that will slow the pace down a bit.
Enough with This Slow Life! I Was Reincarnated as a High Elf and Now I’m Bored: Volume 7 - Or not. Here’s the fucking first sentence of the volume: “Airena and I returned from the world of the giants above the clouds…and then forty-two years passed.” So much for slowing down.
Enough with This Slow Life! I Was Reincarnated as a High Elf and Now I’m Bored: Volume 8 - So this is the end of the series, and it made me outright cry at 3 different points. That’ll teach me to read at work. The series is something unique. A thousand years of a life in the span of 8 volumes. The pace is dizzying, and you get the feeling you’re missing so much of the story, but every time one of the characters in it passes away, it still hits like a truck nonetheless. I hope there will maybe be spinoffs that will tell some parts of the story in a more traditional speed. Maybe from the POV of some of the shorter-lived characters. At least there is potential for many stories to tell that got only hit at or glanced over here. Finally, would I recommend the series? Absolutely. I think it’s one of a kind, and there probably won’t be any quite like it again.
