I’m seeing patterns and likeliness that I find on Reddit, to be happening on here on Lemmy. Too many of the same moderators and some of the ones that enact comment removals and everything seem to inflict one party but not the others.

That’s just bad moderating. So, okay, you removed a comment of mine for incivility. But you allow the clear responses after my comment to stay there, that also is just as uncivil.

Because that makes about as much sense as the way things are moderated over in Reddit, right?

Please tell me I’m not wasting my time on the Fediverse if this is how things are going to be. Bad enough that moderators seem to have selective attention spans in regards to what is posted on the instances that they allow. Repetitious stuff that clutters the magazines when we want to read something new.

If this is the case, I mind as well go back to ban evading whack-a-mole with Reddit.

Love checking the modlogs on posts like these to see OP calling someone deserving of being lynched lmao

It’s not immediately apparently exactly which removed comment in the modlog triggered this post, but one of your last comments told another user they deserved to be lynched because they disagreed with you about…lynching. Then you called them idiots for not “getting it”.

If you smell shit everywhere, instead of crying “what about?!”, maybe check your shoe.

If you are constantly having your comments removed and other comments that you think are comparably bad are not being removed, leave that instance. If you are seeing it everywhere, then leave Lemmy.

You know what they say about someone who smells shit everywhere they go. If you have to ban evade on reddit and Lemmy, you just might be the problem. I opened your profile. The first and last thing I read was a suggestion that someone you were speaking to should be killed. Introspect.

Yeah but you also neglect how it is on the internet. People will twist contexts, interpret things wrongly and deliberately gaslight to make up just about anything anymore to have you disciplined. All the while they get to wander around freely and continue their passive aggressive bullshit.

But I’ll bet you’ve never been on the receiving end of that, have you? That’s why you’ve said what you’ve said. And you close your comment out by saying something blatantly untrue which is a gaslighting tactic. Good to know you’re one of them.

The community has spoken. You are wrong.

But this is the diverse. Start your own instance for people who agree with you.

You wished death on someone to their face. And then when you got flagged and a moderator did the obvious thing, you lost your shit about it.

I got moderated in that same thread for calling you out with spicy language, and that’s fair.

Dude, flame off for a second: you need help. Show this thread to someone you trust or a mental healthcare provider. Maybe you just need a day or two away from social media, maybe you have bigger problems. I struggle, too. Things can get a lot worse if you don’t take some steps to make them better. Like, a LOT worse.

I’m not new on the internet, or on forum style websites. You need to stop deflecting and examine your own thoughts and feelings or you are just going to be angry at everyone forever.

I agree that powermods can be a problem anyway, but you’re really not helping your argument with this attitude.

Yeah, for everyone to see how fragile the mods are and can be. Were you trying to make up for an ultimate dunk kind of a response? Buddy, I know you, through you moderate some of the instances you’re in. You’re fragile, not allowing people to talk about some things in politics but allowing repeated posts to come over and over. You aren’t that great of a moderator yourself.

Real mature of a mod, you want that politics instance to turn into Trumpland, don’t you? I bet you voted for him. You even got uptight because people doxxed a NeoNazi, so you’re a protector of NeoNazis.

And what stance do you think you have when you’ve openly protected a NeoNazi?

My opinion was a meaningless opinion, at the end of the day. Your action, spoke louder. You knew how heightened things have become now politically. You knew.

You’ve had content removed from News, World News, 196, and now AskLemmy… that’s 4 separate moderators.

Moderation is not the problem here.

Bruh, dodging your matter doesn’t serve anything either. Consider the fact that you whitewashed that post from your history so it won’t be tracked.

And by the way, you think one solitary opinion is what’s the problem? When, who you protected, collectively is going to ruin the country for 4 years?

You’re not seeing the forest from the trees. Not seeing the big picture. This is why you can’t mod.

The magic of the Fediverse is that even if some of the other comments are right and you’re the problem, you can go and spin up your own instance with your own rules. Other instances might not federate with you, but that’s the whole point. Everyone can federate with the other instances of their choice.

And the same goes for communities too. Unlike Reddit, people here (like me:-) continually browse by “All”, and will find posts as they come out, plus there are communities literally dedicated to letting people know what communities are out there.

Counterpoint: mods here are doing heroic work by holding up all of Lemmy, even though (reportedly? I am not a mod here myself) the mod tools here suck ass, especially across instances. It can’t be an easy job.

It’s also unpaid labor, and exposes them to things like CSAM or other nastiness that I for one would not want to have to wade through. Sure, nobody is perfect, yet if OP wants to volunteer then let them, but why the shade at these unpaid volunteers donating their time to keep us all happy?

Whilst I agree that some mods may be overzealous and that the fediverse has a serious slant, you also seem to have behaved very uncivilly.

In any case, unlike reddit, there are many options. When lemmy.ml/c/world bans me for criticizing genocides comitted by the USSR & CCP I can still post to lemmy.world/c/world or even create my own community for world news elsewhere.
