Lots of nice details in this… That nostril flare animation… the way the music immediately cut out when they reached the castle… all the camera focuses on the instructor’s stick but without any scenes of abuse… the lifeless, but not completely dead look in her eyes after the time skip…

I’m not sure how it will transition out of the prolog, but this episode could stand alone as a short.

Some points for the pro column:

    • lovable MC
    • didn’t focus on the bullying to make her look more miserable
    • instructor lady was strict but didn’t physically hit MC with that stick of hers. When it was first shown I feared the worst
    • MC isn’t out for revenge
    • people around her don’t seem to be vicious to foster sympathy for MC

    Cons:

    • the OP (which was played at the end) kinda spilled the whole plot. I think I have a very thorough understanding on how this whole show will play out. But I just hope that it will surprise me.

All in all, it’s enjoyable enough for my taste.

This appears to mostly be prologue, which left me sort of unsure what to expect from future episodes. It was enjoyable enough, though, so I’ll stick around a little longer to see if it’s good when we get into the real meat of the story. Without too much to go on, I give the premiere a 3/5.

A so-so premiere, but let’s see if it gets better. You can’t really blame the protagonist for wanting to ditch the castle and bail since she didn’t willingly agree to this arranged marriage. Her happiness was hilarious, and from the trailer, it seems like this will be the opposite of the usual: the protagonist will be the pursuer, and the princess will retreat. In most stories, it’s the other way around, with the women chasing and the male leads being indecisive, so this one stands out as different.
