Welcome to the newly created Gundam community on ani.social. I welcome all the refugees from the !gundam@possumpat.io community, whose home instance is slated to be shut down shortly.
After a meta discussion in that community, I offered my services to be a community moderator for a newly reborn Gundam community in the lemmy-verse. I am far from a Gundam expert, but I have experience moderating other communities and offered to help out. As a standing offer, I welcome others to reach out if they want to moderate this community that are more knowledgeable in the area.

What does moderating entail?
For a community this small, not that much is needed really. The main thing would be to keep an eye out for reports of spam, abuse, or off-topic stuff. That happens really rarely though, even in a community as large as !anime@ani.social, I only get ~5-10 reports a month. All the other stuff I do like weekly discussion posts, keeping up the wiki, or babysitting rikka are extra stuff that wouldn’t really be needed for this community unless you felt the urge to do so.

@MelodiusFunk@slrpnk.net I went ahead and spun this community up ahead of the shutdown of possumpat on the 20th. Let me know if you ever change your mind about modding 😉. I know there is the world community, but I thought it might be better to have a community with an active mod if you are needing to move communities anyway.
