    Money is a tool.

Blame greed or the focus corporations have on unbridled growth without any consideration to development. Blame the idea of corporate personhood or weak restrictions that barely deliver a slap on the wrist. Blame the measurements of success that push to just make numbers larger. There are so many different things to point at, different ways we could view the issues and try to find solutions, but money itself is a low effort answer.

Are you gonna rush out and get rid of/give away all your money? Why not?

Low effort? Sorry man, wax philosophical all you want. End of the day, these people do it purely for money. Even if greed extends beyond that, right here, right now, it’s about money.

Call it a tool. Sure. But a tool’s purpose is decided by the one who wields it. Not by it’s original intent. So no, money isn’t an low effort answer. I could point at everything you said being the “Real” reason. But in the end of the day, it all leads back to money.
