Just here to chime in that this series, in my own opinion, has been way better than it has any right to be. The light novels are somehow actually worth reading, generic as the premise might be. Though, this might be the junk food craving in me speaking.

This show is really making me want to visit Naha or Ishigaki. Or even Yonaguni, though that’s rather off the beaten path.

Side note: At this point Seven Seas should probably just exit the light novel industry for numerous reasons. They’re not really pulling much, and the only things they do get are in really niche genres.

This feels like a great candidate for source material licensing, to be honest. I think the fast forwarding over the exposition leaves an opening for those viewers who want more detail to pick up the novel, save the current lack of officially-released source material.

My expectations for this one were (very) low, but holy FUCK. This one is just an edge fest. Skip it if you want to hold on to your love of anime.
