So, I am not sure if this exactly fits your definition, but I have written previously about my experience reading Domestic Girlfriend (I have only read the manga, not seen the anime). At various points throughout, I liked and hated each of the three leads at different points in the story. Nothing else I have read has made me want to reach into the story and straighten out their lives more.

I have complicated feelings about the series, but I can honestly say that it is probably one of the series that has made the biggest impact on me. I loved it sometimes, hated it other times, but I will never forget it. If you want a different perspective on the series, Gigguk did a couple videos about it back in the day, this one is the first I believe.

I agree with the sentiment here, but with one proviso - Rui is the only one I actually like enough to care about fixing. I can see how the others need it (and arguably even more so), but I just don’t care. Callous undoubtedly, but that’s the way it is.

No arguments there. Rui is easily the most likeable of the three.
