I remember watching a Pokémon run during a GDQ before and they were just menuing through their inventory and talking about how their inputs were directly manipulating the Game Boy’s ram bit by bit; essentially rewriting the memory to create a favorable game state, like an in-game save file editor. Blew my mind.
