I think the oddest thing about this series is how unlikeable both of the protagonists have become.

I have to assume that it’s preparatory to some rewarding character growth, but it’s just sort of strange and unsettling. They both started off just sort of guilelessly cute and awkward, each in their own ways, but as we’ve gotten to know them, they’ve both revealed streaks of selfishness and disregard for other people that are really sort of off-putting.

I presume, or at least hope, that over the long term it’ll be rewarding, and it’s almost certainly the case that those flaws were there all along, and just not a focus initially, but still…
