Happy Birthday! It has been one year since I made the first general discussion post in this community. Back then, this community newly created with a whole 1 subscriber and active member - me. Since then, we have grown to be the most active general manga community on lemmy. I didn’t do that on my own, so I want to thank everybody that has contributed over the past year to make this community what it has become today.

Just in case it wasn’t clear, you can absolutely use this thread the same way you would use any other general discussion thread. Let us know about things you have read, ask about things you want to read, show off some new volumes you just got, whatever. Go wild! (within the rules)

Like normal, please be careful with spoilers. I wrote a guide about spoilers in case you need a refresher on how to handle them (also linked in the sidebar).

I totally feel you on the screaming into the void sensation. That is basically what this community felt like to me for the first couple weeks. Honestly, if people hadn’t found it and started contributing within a month or two, I was getting burnt out finding and posting enough content to keep things going. That is why I am so incredibly grateful to the people that make posts/comments. Without you guys, I definitely would not been able to find the motivation to keep this thing going.

That’s exactly what happened to me and another community pretty much. Not mine but I did try to liven it up for a good while. Can’t people to interact and make a community if they don’t want to, I guess.

As fun as fediverse is in its current form is, it can still be a bit small in regards to the some topics and forms we want to engage about them in. Guess anime and manga communities were a good choices to start with. Still, a bit of luck never hurts.
