This episode was pure joy. From Patrick being unable to invite Yumiella, his blatant jealousy making him forget that humans don’t lay eggs, Yumiella taking care of the egg as if it was some cute little pet…
“Let’s take you to the nurse! But Yumiella’s healing is faster, where’s Yumiella?” Poor dude loses his head a little when under pressure but who can blame him? 😂
This whole episode was one of the things I was expecting the most from the first book, and it delivered!
It’s been ages since I read the WN, but I had forgotten how far into the story Ryu shows up, so I kept expecting this to happen all season. It’s nice to see Ryu make his appearance, even if that appearance is budgetarily-challenged CG. I had thought that Ryu happened before the dance for instance.
Well, i haven’t read the WN, have read the books instead, but yeah, this season is pretty much Book 1 it seems (with some changes, they have softened Alicia from an outright bigot to “highly incompatible magic aversion syndrome”, which is OK). I really, REALLY hope it gets popular enough to have at least a couple more seasons, because the insanity of the end parts of Book 3 is something i REALLY wanna see animated! 😄
