What are your thoughts on this series? For me it’s obviously 10/10 but every little detail I notice re-watching some of the scenes make that 10 so much more deserved. Everything from storytelling, animation, voice acting to even background sound make it so polished. Really hoping for season 2.

True, the second season is almost certain but let’s hope it’s done by the same team. One Punch Man was also quite successful and yet season 2 got a low budget and was done by a different studio. Quality just wasn’t there.

Overall I liked it. I thought the first half was better than the second half. The start of it felt more gentle and dream like. I found the first class mage competition to be a bit lacking.

I also think that first part was better but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy second part as well.

I think it’s an absolute masterpiece, it’s going to age like a fine wine. I know a lot of folks had their reservations regarding the second half, I definitely was worried when I saw the cast was suddenly tripling in size, but now that the arc is over I think they did a wonderful job of introducing interesting and multi-faceted characters while still leaving room for some of them to grow and show off more of what they can do. It really made them feel like ‘real’ people (in that world,) independent of the main characters, something the story in general does a great job of, unlike so many other series that try to juggle several dozen character’s entire arcs in the span of a season.

The show could end now and I would be satisfied with it, but it’s really nice to see how much it exploded and that there’s more content to come. Hopefully that doesn’t mean the quality gets watered down, it’d be a shame for this season to be lightning in a bottle compared to the rest.

I don’t have enough good things to say about this show. It just did everything right. I am a huge fan of the source manga, so I was more than a little nervous prior to the season beginning about how this was going to be adapted. I hadn’t even considered the possibility that the anime would end up being this good, let alone that it would also be so incredibly popular.

I am eagerly awaiting season 2 at some point down the line (also waiting for the manga to come back from hiatus). When watching the final episode, I am afraid I couldn’t follow Himmel’s advice about a tearful goodbye. I will try to do better on my next rewatch.

Also, looking forward to the new community! @MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz here is a new community for your megathread.

The adaptation really went above and beyond. All the fame and praise are well deserved.

Can’t say I could follow Himmel’s advise either. It was a long and tearful goodbye since I kept going back to rewatch my favorite moments.

I’m hoping for a season 2, too. I love the manga series, and the anime adaptation was great - the animators “got” it just right.
