Hey all, managed to track down the root cause of why only one thread was created for the release of two episodes. Long story short, it was an error in the AniList api. I have updated the bot’s database to list this thread as the discussion thread for both episodes 1 and 2. The api does correctly list next week’s episode as episode 3. So, hopefully it will be correct going forward.
(The first 2 episodes came out together, so I’m writing about both)
There are a lot of cut corners on this one, especially on the animation side, but I think its flaws are more charming than anything. Ep 1 seems paint-by-numbers, but I found all the characters likeable and the vibe to be very comfy. The animation looked quite cheap, but some of the goofy parts made me laugh so I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Ep 2 absolutely stepped things up, added some intrigue and more plot than I was expecting, though it still had some animation jank. Overall, I’m definitely on board, even if I don’t expect it to really wow me. I also appreciate that even though the cast seems to mostly be women, they actually seem to have their own stuff going on rather than just being a harem.
After episode 1, I gave this a comfy but underwhelming 3/5, but after episode 2 I’m bumping it up to a 4/5.
Do you know what the situation is with the release? I see two episodes listed on Crunchyroll, but AniList still lists episode 2 as airing next week.
Not sure. Livechart does say 2 episodes got released this week and #3 will be released next week, but I don’t know how accurate anything is.
Thanks! I might have to make some quick updates to the bot on how it handles this show. I’ll try to have things fixed up before next week’s episode.
I’ve watched the first two episodes in a streaming site.
The story is OK; the protag basically carries with him the cheats of being a hero/eiyuu from the earlier world into the new one, and they don’t get detected as a gift so people think that he sucks.
Story pacing is a bit rushed; suddenly he gets banished from his father’s realm, then finds his [former?] fiancée who’s also the princess who’s also the saint, then the hero/yuusha, they kill a dragon while protecting a child, he gets to know an elf who works as blacksmith raised by a dorf, and now there’s suddenly some sinister plot that his father is part of.
God, I hate the choice of VAs so much.
Episode 2 didn’t really change my mind about anything.
No bad dragon art to complain about this time though.
The evil family that he comes from is brought to the forefront, in case anyone didn’t believe his words from episode 1.
But that’s about as subtle as the writing gets.
I think this one’s going to be boring for me…
Wow, bad 2D dragon…
“I hid my OP powers from a previous life for 15 years, and managed to stay at level 1?”
That’s the most impressive thing about this story so far.
Understandably his ducal family
sound likeare douchebags, and I don’t blame him for wanting to get out of there ASAP.Done!
