This is where I’ll call the soli ending up being done by Reina and Mayu. Kumiko will lose the battle (she’ll play in the Regionals but not in the Nationals), but win the war (Kitauji gets the National gold). Kumiko’s talk with her homeroom teacher hints she’ll decide to be a music teacher herself.

There’s a palpable tension or awkwardness between Mayu and Kumiko. Mayu also seems to hide something.
