And the Jade arc comes to an end along with the first season. Frankly, I enjoyed this season much more than I thought I was going to. I remember enjoying the manga up to this Jade arc, but I really think that the anime was able to improve on the manga through some great animation paired with a fun OST.
I understand that the stylistic choices in this show are not for everybody. Every character is prone to being lewded, no matter the gender or age, and that just isn’t ok with everybody. That aside, the anime did an excellent job of adapting the impressive and distinctive art style of the manga into animation. This is a very young studio, and to be able to pull this off is very impressive. I read elsewhere that they are using tools and a pipeline that is completely different than the rest of the industry, including making heavy use of Unreal Engine to create backgrounds, camera moves, and effects. I hope they can keep it up for the second season.
Overall, a satisfying conclusion to the season. With season 2 already announced, I hope that they can continue with the fantastic adaptation.
