Well, the season came to an end and, despite the “hero’s” best efforts in the post-credits scene, no season 2 announcement yet. Overall, I think this is a fine place to end the show and it feels pretty satisfying. The best part of this episode (and this show generally), was the touching scene with just Rys and Flio in the moonlight. Rys was hands-down, the best part of this show. I wasn’t paying attention to the runtime while watching and half expected the show to simply fade to black and then end as it was just the two of them on the porch.
I do think it is fitting to acknowledge the fake hero in the post-credits scene because I think his VA absolutely killed it this season. He is a comic relief character, nothing more than that, and it is clear that he understood the assignment.
Thanks for the ride Level 2 Cheat! It was more fun than I had expected it to be.
The blond-haired hero duo has fully at this point morphed into Team Rocket 😂
Yeah, hope for more seasons
I haven’t watched through this one yet, but I found the first book in the light novel series relatively self-contained, and I didn’t really feel like the later books added much to the series. Assuming it made it through that first book, it might be worthwhile sitting exactly where it is.
I had read through part of the manga previously (just a little further than the anime adapted) instead of the LN. Looking up the LN synopses, it looks like they only adapted the first two volumes. I wouldn’t be too upset about it ending here as it wrapped up fairly nicely while still leaving the door open for the future.
