Donald Trump said in an interview released on Sunday that he did not think he would run for president again in 2028 if he loses this year’s race for the White House.
In an interview on the Full Measure television show with Sharyl Attkisson, the former US president – who ran in 2016 and 2020 – was asked whether he saw himself running yet again in four years time.
“No, I don’t,” Trump answered. “I don’t see that at all.”
He said: “Hopefully, we’re going to be successful.”
He said that about 2024 in 2020, but here he is. Did he forget because of dementia or is he just a liar?
It is an abuser tactic, silent treatment or withholding affection if he doesn’t get what he wants. I guess that might work on his cult even if it has the opposite effect on people with multiple brain cells.
If he is alive in 2028 he will run again. Hopefully he is in prison by then.
What’s interesting to me is that he seemed to acknowledge the possibility of failing at all. And that he didn’t organize the answer around “if the election is stolen” or something. This is unlike him.
This answer was almost human.

He’d be 82, and the implication is that the country would have just had 4 years of a relatively young, female President.
He doesn’t sound like a viable candidate at all in that scenario. (Not that he’s a viable candidate now and they still ran him, so I guess all bets are off anyway)
My evaluation is that Trump will be less capable of doing the work of campaigning and people will be less interested.

He didn’t really though. The headline makes it sound like Trump said “I won’t run again if I lose.” But that’s not the case. The exchange was actually:
Interviewer: If you’re not successful this time, do you see yourself running again in four years?
Trump: No I don’t. I think that will be… uhh… that will be it. I don’t see that at all. Hopefully we’re going to be successful.
Last time he said he’d leave the country and we’d never hear from him again if he lost.

You can’t name just one time he lied because if you refer to any specific statement he’s made, it contains at least two lies.
I refuse to do the math to be sure, but if we extrapolate how many times per day he’s publicly lied in recent years with the number of days he’s been alive, we’re probably talking millions of lies overall lol

I’m sure a decent amount of people would still vote for him despite him being in jail. If there’s box for him on the ballot, they’d probably even vote him after he died.
Some of these people still struggle with object permanence though. There will be no rallies, softball interviews, debates, etc. he will just fade away in their minds.
