I really enjoy Aira, like she is such a good heel for the wholesomeness of Momo/Okarun. These two dorks are such instantly good friends that Okarun hadn’t even considered that Momo was cute. Meanwhile, Aira is the embodiment of conceit and is then led to believe she has been chosen for a higher purpose. It is a perfect recipe for her to act on her delusions of grandeur like some kind of chuuni.

Watching Aira use that golden ball as some kind of fidget spinner all episode was pretty hilarious with the context of what that ball actually is. In general, with the setting at school this episode, Turbo Granny running around, and gossiping, this almost felt like a Sailor Moon episode. Just substitute Luna with Turbo Granny, and a couple sailor scouts for Momo/Okarun.

Okarun getting angry for Momo’s sake and suddenly finding her cute was so sweet I can’t… My sugar levels are too high!
Also can’t wait to see Aria face when she learns (or rather realize) that ball is actually a golden ball.
Also if they found one ball that means Okarun is now full functional right? I mean not like in a full throttle but working.

I wasn’t quite onboard with turbo granny being back as cute cat last episode but she’s turning out to be a pretty entertaining character.

I really enjoyed Turbo Granny this episode as well. She has basically become the mascot of the Momo/Okarun magical girl team.

Well that certainly was a perfectly average episode of Dandadan. Love how completely insane Aira is. Her friends too! They called her out on acting strange, but that didn’t stop them from helping!

I mean…if I was just on a stroll in the park and a golden ball falls from the sky and hits me in the head while lights danced around in the sky above me, I would be tempted to believe I was chosen by the heavens for some purpose. Mix that with the narcissism already present in Aira, and we get something like a magical girl chuuni.

Reddthat user here. So the trick to get the posts to federate is for the community to have at least one local subscriber.

So, without further ado, with this treasure, I summon… weird lady in red!

Requiring a local subscriber for federation to occur is tough on smaller instances. When I started up the !manga@ani.social community, I had made a bunch of alt accounts across different instances to subscribe to help with discoverability. There are some tools people have built to help seed communities between instances (https://lemmy-federate.com/ is one I have bookmarked), but it is definitely a shortcoming of the federated model. I wish that lemmy was more capable of fetching historical content from a different instance.
