If you haven’t picked this one up, consider joining us. Both for fun and as a way of contributing to activity on Lemmy.
Dungeon Meshi is a well liked manga, and an adaptation by Studio Trigger is now airing.
In this episode the gang continues their journey through the second level of the dungeon, the environment of which I am loving to see more of. When the gang gets hungry again, they look for yet more monsters to hunt for food, this time a basilisk, for at least partially “normal” meat. Shenanigans involving mandrakes also ensue.
Marcille makes a mistake, and reveals her vulnerable side. The first hints of the fantastic characterization I love this series for.
Remember not to spoil anything if you’re a manga reader, but feel free to elaborate on tidbits of lore that may not be coming through in the adaptation.
Your lead image, where he is intimidating the basilisk, killed me. I don’t often literally laugh out loud while watching anime, but the VA work during that scene came so out of nowhere and was so different than the normal character that it caught me really off guard.
I mentioned this in the other thread, but I am glad that they are setting up Marcille to be more than just a gag character. She hasn’t really gotten to show off yet (other than accidentally during this episode), but I know it’s coming.
Also, seeing all the great reaction faces Marcille has really makes me appreciate that Studio Trigger is doing this series. Some of the best parts of Little Witch Academia were the really cartoony antics of Akko, and Marcille is living up to that heritage. They way she was animated while under the effects of the mandrake was derpy as hell, but I loved it.
Look forward to more Marcilleposts. I can’t help screenshotting every one of those faces so it looks like my posting them will indeed be a regular thing.
After watching these episodes you can hear some of these images :D

That’s true. They used to drop animes all at once and then people would binge them in one go ,and then the online conversations around them would die out in a day or two.
