Alright everybody, I have spent most of my day trying to find some way to be comfortable in an airport or airplane. So, I finally got home and grabbed myself a chocolate bar to enjoy. Here are my running thoughts for this episode:
Alright, so it seems like Eden is going to be ok with a big hole in his chest where his id was ripped out. Perhaps he just can’t transform anymore.
The Cyan being in the crate reveal was telegraphed a bit too obviously, but she seems like she will be a lot of fun now!
I feel like Naomi is getting a bit too upset about not having the weapon…she has Cyan as a weapon now in its place.
Unless she doesn’t…because Cyan seems to be compelled to take commands from the puppetmaster?
So the puppetmaster is a human that is allied with the Usurpers? Sure, why not?
Chocolate. It’s what’s for dinner! At least, the Alters’ dinners it seems. I went ahead and got another chocolate bar to eat in remembrance of good chocolate times with the family.
Alright, so Eden will slowly lose his memories without his id until he ceases to be Eden. Like some kind of Nean dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Rouge got to eat a chocolate bar now! Also, Cyan is going to be a handful and Naomi doesn’t really seem up to the task.
Rouge is splitting yet another chocolate bar with Cyan just like Gene did in that story told earlier in the episode. Lots of chocolate this episode.
And we end on a cliffhanger. For people in a ship with less than 10 seconds to live, they all seem pretty calm. Wonder if they have some kind of plan.
That’s a wrap. All told, I had been trying to have a chocolate bar each time a character had one on screen in this series. However, there was too much this episode. I stopped after two because I just couldn’t. Maybe I should have done small pieces rather than whole bars…
In any case, the puppetmaster is the big mystery (among many) that I feel needs more explanation. If he is going to be the big bad, then I feel like we should know something about him…anything really. My wild guess is that the puppetmaster is Dr. Eva or Roy Junghardt. That would mean that Rouge and Cyan really are sisters like Cyan was told. Also, yes, I did have to google those character names because nothing about this story sticks in my brain well.
Nope, that was revealed this episode. Cyan was also drawing the puppetmaster as her papa in the scribbled drawings as well this episode. I think it was meant to be him anyway.
Yeah, I feel like so many things could have been handled differently about this show. With this reveal, I feel like it could have been foreshadowed when the Puppetmaster was having Rouge go through that freaky dream sequence. They already had the dream Rouge and current Rouge blending into one another. I don’t think anybody would have batted an eye at adding a third look into that milieu. Then, when Cyan physically shows up in the story, it could have been a more dramatic reveal then rather than just a passing remark.
Yeah,Cyan was part of that dream sequence, but since that entire ep made no sense, it was not clear at all if she was the Puppetmaster’s creation or if Cyan existed all along. I feel like that was their attempt at foreshadowing, but it’s a pretty poor one.
Sigh…I should have checked before saying anything. I think I would be more invested in paying attention to details like that if I hadn’t already gotten extremely lost as a viewer by that point. Each week when I jam out to the OP, I am reminded of how cool episodes 1 and 2 were, but then the rest of the show happens.

Did I miss somewhere in previous episodes that Cyan was created by the Puppetmaster?

Oh, it didn’t feel like much of a reveal. They just kinda mentioned it as if everyone already knew.

I mean, like I said, it was very unclear if that was supposed to be foreshadowing or some sort of clue. I don’t blame you for forgetting lol.
