Since this was posted from a non-Lemmy/non-Mbin instance, I guess that the formatting works differently on their end. And Lemmy grabs the first line of posts without a title and makes that the title.

You haven’t been in the internez lately.

Nothing here has any value. Everything needs a fact check and everything can be faked, even fact checks.

“Alternative facts” was a phrase used by U.S. Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway during a Meet the Press interview on January 22, 2017, in which she defended White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s false statement about the attendance numbers of Donald Trump’s inauguration as President of the United States. When pressed during the interview with Chuck Todd to explain why Spicer would “utter a provable falsehood”, Conway stated that Spicer was giving “alternative facts”. Todd responded, “Look, alternative facts are not facts. They’re falsehoods.”

The more evidence you provide, the harder some delusional people will reject all of it. It’s not a fight you can win with facts.

It may look like a debate to most people, but some people just don’t play by those rules. The whole idea of it being a debate just falls apart when you realize that what wasn’t reasoned in, can’t be reasoned out.

Deniers won’t care, they’ll just say India is part of the conspiracy. As are the scientists using lasers to measure the distance of the moon with retroreflectors the Apollo missions left. As am I for doubting their bullshit. Etc.

Aside from a bit dusty, likely pristine. There may be some micro-impacts by now, and there’s always some risk of a major impact on long time scales, but if luck holds, those sites should remain treasure troves of recognizable artifacts until the Sun becomes a red giant.

      WTH, Australia is real.

It’s New Zealand that’s fake. That’s why it’s not on half of the maps out there. Even the accent is made up. No one in their right minds speaks a dialect where “no” has three syllables

They left retroreflective mirrors there when they visited, you shine a light at them and it bounces right back at you, and that’s what we do with a laser at an Observatory, it’s pretty cool! :-D

I consider that another piece of evidence, in a big pile of evidence, but I suppose crazy people can say we sent the mirrors up with a rocket on their own or whatever idk. Crazy people gonna crazy.

You know what’s really crazy? Some people think the USA is real and not just a TV show and 300 million AI bots. Had anyone ever actually been there? No, of course not, it’s all Hollywood movie magic! (Hollywood’s a secret propaganda studio based out of Cuba, which is real obviously because we get rum from there)

I mean, some people literally believe the USA as a country isn’t real, and is actually some massive corporation that was formed, IIRC, sometime after the US Civil War. Sovereign Citizens are an interesting bunch to say the least…

We actually fired a super laser though an inter-dimensional portal to a parallel world to counter act them firing a super laser at us. The portal must remain on the moon, we can’t allow them to walk freely on Earth again.

Does anyone know if I have one of those super bright blue lasers with the big heatsink pushing 5 watts of power, can I hit the reflector? Probably more likely to hit an airplane and go to prison.
